ATLANTA, GA - In a startling development, Kari Lake, the failed Republican gubernatorial candidate from Arizona, issued threats of physical violence towards the Department of Justice, President Biden, and media, as she jumped to the defense of indicted former President Donald Trump. This outrageous reaction comes on the heels of Special Counsel Jack Smith's announcement of 37 federal felony charges against Trump.
Lake delivered her incendiary remarks on Friday to a group of Georgia Republican activists. In her inflammatory speech, she vociferously defended Trump and declared, "I have a message tonight for Merrick Garland, and Jack Smith, and Joe Biden. And the guys back there in the fake news media, you should listen up as well, this one's for you. If you wanna get to President Trump, you're gonna have to go through me, and you're gonna have to go through 75 million Americans just like me."
She took a step further by invoking a veiled threat using her and her supporters' membership to the National Rifle Association. "And I'm gonna tell you, most of us are card-carrying members of the NRA. That's not a threat, that's a public service announcement," Lake said, according to The Washington Post's Isaac Arnsdorf, who attended the event.
Her remarks, eerily evocative of a call to riot, were met with a standing ovation from the predominantly Republican crowd. The grim tone of the event reached a new low when Lake punctuated her speech by saying, "I meant what I said."
Lake's comments have elicited swift condemnation. Fred Guttenberg, who lost his two children in the Parkland school shooting, responded on Twitter, "This is a threat to public safety by a former Gov candidate to AZ. Like those who support her, they have bastardized the 2A & believe it gives them rights to kill you. Kari Lake just demonstrated how these terrorists use the 2A to support violence & this is why they must lose."
These shocking developments serve as a stark reminder of the volatile political climate in the wake of the indictments against former President Trump. It remains to be seen how these violent sentiments will influence the larger conversation surrounding the former President's legal battles.
Inciting insurrection is a crime! Why has this lunatic not been arrested? If I stood up on the street downtown and called for armed sedition I know I'd be arrested.
These MAGA fools are being allowed to get away with murder, literally.
